IWCP - 29 August 1942 - NEWPORT - Death of Well Known Resident. - The death took place at a Ryde nursing home on Thursday of Mr. A. J. Salter, of Mount House, Staplers-road, aged 79, Mr. Salter was the owner of the old Medina Cinema and became a director of the private company which was formed when the new cinema was erected in 1935. He was a vice-president of the Newport Bowling Club and also one of its oldest members. He had been an invalid for many years. The funeral will take place quietly on Monday.
