IWCP - 22 September 1894 - NEWPORT - SUDDEN DEATH. - Mr. Robert E. Hayles, of this town, formerly well-known in the Island as a prominent cattle dealer, died suddenly on Monday. He has been ailing for some time and had been medically attended. General sympathy is felt for the widow and large family in their bereavement. The funeral took place at Carisbrooke Cemetery on Wednesday, when in addition to relatives the mourners included Messrs. W. Cole (Cowes), Biles. R. Wiseman, J. Duke, Dyson (S.W. Railway), Greenham, Callaway, and others. The polished oak coffin was covered with floral tributes.
