Sussex Agricultural Express – 21 February 1902 - BRIGHTON BLACKMAILING CASE. Timothy Horgan, 62, commission agent, was indicted for feloniously accusing Thomas Augustus with intent to extort money from him, at Brighton. Found guilty and sentenced to ten years’ penal servitude. ‘Prisoner wept loudly on hearing the sentence.’
