IWCP - 24 July 1943 - NEWPORT - Veteran Forester's Death. - The death took place at 131 St. James-street on Monday of Mr. Richard Mytton, aged 83, for many years an employee at the Royal Brewery and a former Chief Ranger of the Island district of Foresters. He was one of the oldest members of the local Court of Foresters and a member of the committee when its jubilee was celebrated in 1895. The funeral took place yesterday (Friday), fellow Foresters being among those attending the service in the Parish Church.
Isle of Wight County Press - 31 July 1943 - NEWPORT - Veteran Forester's Funeral. - The funeral of Mr. Richard Mytton, of 131 St. James's-street, took place on Friday week, the Vicar (Canon W. B. Hogg) officiating at a service in the Parish Church, and at the interment. The mourners were Miss Mytton (daughter) and Mr. F. Munt, representing deceased's son who was indisposed. Messrs. R. Tutte, G. Reynard, H. Harding, and R. Jones represented the Royal Brewery, where Mr. Mytton was employed for many years. The Foresters, of which deceased was a prominent member, was represented by Bros. W. Spanner (secretary of the local court), who read the funeral service of the Order at the graveside, R. D. Goddard (district secretary), A. J. Williams (Court treasurer), O. C. Hamilton and W. Saunders, and Sisters E. Gustar, C.R., J. F. Eldridge, S.W., C. Whillier, E. Hannam, and J. Clarke (also representing her husband). Others in the church were Mr. P. G. Jenkins, T.C., Mesdames Plucknett and Shoesmith, and the Misses E. Snow and Cartwright. There were a number of floral tributes. Messrs. Hamilton and Son made the arrangements.
