IWCP - 22 November 1952 - Newport - Retired Farmer's Death. - The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Ernest Calloway, aged 79, of Poplar Cottage, Staplers. Mr. Calloway was a well known farmer in the Rookley and Godshill districts and belonged to an Arreton family. His first holding was Moor Farm, where he remained for 19 years. After moving to Rookley Farm, where he remained for 25 years, he retired about 10 years ago. He leaves a widow and two daughters, with whom sympathy is felt. The funeral took place yesterday at the Quay Street Methodist Church.
