IWCP – 9 January 1915 - Newport – NONAGENARIAN’S DEATH.-The death occurred on New Year’s-day of Mr. Edwin Young Taylor, of St. John’s-road, who had reached the advanced age of 93. Deceased was well known in the town, having been formerly a market gardener and dairyman, and he was hale and hearty and active until a short time before his last illness. The funeral took place at Carisbrooke Cemetery on Tuesday, the Rev. W.H. Mackinnon (Vicar of St. John’s) officiating. Those present included Messrs. J. Eldridge, J.B. Alderslade, A.J. Sanders, J.H. Heal, Urry. Merwood (Ryde), G. Hall, and P. Watson.
