Isle of Wight County Press – 26 October 1940 – NEWPORT – A Nonagenarian. – Mrs. Mary Kennedy, a widow of 61 Cross-lanes, who was 90 on Thursday, is still able to do the finest needlework and embroidery. Of her six sons, two gave their lives in the last war, one in the Royal Navy and one in the Australian Forces, and another son, Mr. Charles Kennedy, ticket collector at the Railway Station, was severely wounded while servicing with the Australians in France.
