IWCP - 13 August 1898 - NEWPORT - SUDDEN DEATH. - Mr. A. Kirby, of the Bedford Arms, Carisbrooke-road, died suddenly from syncope on Wednesday night soon after retiring to rest, after eating a hearty supper. Deceased, who was 48, was well known as a fruiterer and for his original street cries, of which 'little gold fish' will be long remembered. Much sympathy is felt for the widow and family.
