IWCP - 14 November 1936 - NEWPORT - A SAD BEREAVEMENT. - Sincere sympathy is felt for Mr. W. Hughes, of Blackwater-road, a former player of the Newport Football Club, and his wife, in the death of their only son, Charles William, at the early age of 17. The deceased lad, prior to the long illness which ended fatally, had been employed by Messrs. Saunders-Roe at their Folly works since leaving Barton School, and he was greatly liked by his workmates, who sent a beautiful floral tribute to the funeral, which took place at St. Paul's Cemetery on Saturday.
