IWCP - 27 March 1971 - TOWN AND COUNTY NOTES - The death took place on Wednesday of Mr. Lionel Hugh Way, O.B.E., F.R.I.C.S., of Roselawn, 505 Dorchester Road, Broadway, Weymouth, who was well known in the Island as a son of the late Major Henry J. Way, founder of the firm of auctioneers of that name (now incorporated in Way, Riddett and Co.). His brother, the late Mr. Edward W. Way, was a former chairman of directors of the I.W. County Press Co. Ltd. Mr. Lionel Way had a record of distinguished Government service as a Ministry of Agriculture provincial land commissioner. Cremation will take place privately on Monday following a service at the church of St. Lawrence, Upwey.
