IWCP - 13 July 1912 - NEWPORT - FOOTBALLER'S DEATH. - The death took place on Friday of Mr. Oliver Buckler, a member of the committee and a former valued player of Newport Football Club, after a lingering illness, at the age of 34. The funeral took place on Tuesday at Carisbrooke Cemetery, the Football Club, the Liberal Club, the P.S.A., and other organisations being represented. There were a number of floral tributes. Much sympathy is felt for his young widow and children.
