IWCP - 17 January 1931 - Carisbrooke - DEATH OF MISS EDITH ELGER. - The death occurred on Saturday after a long illness, at Furlongs, Clatterford-road (where she resided with her sister, Miss Emily Elger), of Miss Edith Elger, younger daughter of the late Rev. The deceased lady, before her health broke down some 10 years ago, helped her sister in parochial activities, and was highly esteemed. The funeral took place on Monday, the Vicar (the Rev. H. S. Footman, R.D.) officiating. The chief mourners were Miss Emily Elger and the Misses Footman, and amongst others at the service at the Parish Church were Mrs. Greenfield, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Brannon and Miss P. Brannon, Miss Stobart, Mrs. Gibson, Miss Mainwaring, Mrs. Philpot, and the Misses Cole, Baker, Smith, Woone, Brooks, Sherwin, and Blake.
