IWCP - 17 February 1906 - NEWPORT - NONAGENARIAN'S DEATH. - The death occurred at her residence in Upper High-street on Sunday last of Mrs. M. Wood, who had attained the ripe age of 95 years. She was the widow of Mr. William Wood, formerly a stone mason in business at Newport. The funeral took place at Carisbrooke Cemetery on Thursday, the Rev. A. Stephens (Baptist) conducting the service in the Cemetery Chapel, and the Rev. A. E. Jones, of Weymouth, and formerly pastor of the Newport Baptist Church, officiated at the graveside. Amongst those attending were Messrs. E. J. Wray, Wheeler, and G. Brown.
