Isle of Wight County Press - 2 January 1965 - CARISBROOKE - The Late Mr. S. A. Attrill. - The funeral took place on Thursday of Mr. Stanley Arthur Attrill, aged 68, of 113 Carisbrooke Road, who died at St, Mary's Hospital, on Boxing Day. Mr. Attrill served in the Medical Corps during the 1914-18 war and was employed as a butcher in the town before his retirement. He had served as a verger at Quay Street Methodist Church. The service was held at Quay Street Church and was conducted by the Rev. G. L. W. Ridge. The mourners were Mrs. L. A. Attrill (widow), Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Strand (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. R. A. Attrill (son) and Mr. and Mrs. G. Skinner (son-in-law and daughter). Interment was at Carisbrooke Cemetery. The arrangements were made by Messrs. O. C. Hamilton and Son.
