Hampshire Telegraph - 18 March 1848 - DEATHS - On Thursday, after a very short illness, Mrs. Giles, wife of the Rev. E. Giles, Minister of the Independent Chapel, St. James's- Street, Newport.

Hampshire Independent - 25 March 1848 - NEWPORT - FUNERAL SERMON.- The Rev. T. Adkins, of Southampton, improved the death of the late beloved and respected Mrs. Giles, the wife of the Rev. Edward Giles, minister of St. James's Chapel, by a most impressive discourse from the text, "Be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye knoweth not, the Son of man cometh," on Wednesday evening. The chapel was crowded to suffocation, but the most solemn attention was paid to the services of the evening, and we trust much benefit was experienced.
