IWCP - 15 May 1909 - NEWPORT - DEATH OF AN OLD INHABITANT. - We regret to record the death, at the residence of his son, Mr. E. J. Smith, Caesars-road, of Mr. Edward Thomas Smith, aged 82. The deceased was a member of Court Amity A.O.F., Poole, for nearly 53 years. He will be greatly missed by many of his colleagues at the Cement Works, where he had been employed over 30 years. The funeral took place on Wednesday at Carisbrooke Cemetery in the presence of several members of his family, the Rev. P. Cudmore officiating.
