Hampshire Independent - 19 August 1916 - SUDDEN DEATH IN PARKHURST FOREST. - On Monday, whilst at work in Parkhurst Forest, an elderly man named Chas. West, who was accompanied by two of his grandchildren, suddenly fell and expired before help could be obtained. The facts were reported to the Coroner, but as it appeared that the poor man had been medically attended for heart trouble in the past few weeks, an inquest was not considered necessary. A year or so ago his wife expired suddenly owing to heart disease, the inquest being held at Clatterford. The deceased, who lived at Gunville, was 66 years of age.
