IWCP – 9 November 1918 – NEWPORT - THE FUNERAL – took place on Thursday at Newport Cemetery of Miss Beatrice Ranger, a native of Newport, barmaid for the last 10 years at the Vine Hotel, where she was much respected by her employers and the general public. Her lamented death occurred on Monday, after an illness of five days from complications following influenza. The mourners were Messrs. G. W. Ranger, S. Ranger, and J. Ranger (brothers), and Mrs. G. W. Ranger (sister-in-law). Deceased’s two sisters were ill and unable to attend.
