Hampshire Advertiser - 10 May 1873 - Deaths - At Lymington on the 30th April, Ben, eldest son of Thomas Parker Mew, Isle of Wight, aged 29.
Hampshire Advertiser - 10 May 1873 - NEWPORT - THE LATE MR. BEN MEW. - On Saturday morning the mortal remains of Mr. Ben Mew, which had been removed from Lymington to the residence of his uncle, Mr. W. B. Mew (Mayor), in Crocker-street, were borne by men of the brewery to the grave, in Newport Cemetery, the pall bearing some bright immortelles. A long train of mourners, which included Alderman T. P. Mew and Mr. Mew (father and brother of deceased), the Mayor, and many of deceased's personal friends from different parts of the Island and from the other side of the Solent, followed the bier. The Rev. George Connor, M.A., vicar and rural dean, officiated at the church and in the last scene.
