Isle of Wight Observer - Saturday 12 April 1862 - DIED - On the 6th inst., at Canada-house, Dover-street, Ryde, Miss Ellen Turner, aged 63 years.

Isle of Wight Times - Thursday 17 April 1862 - A GENEROUS ACT. - The sister of the late Miss Turner, of Canada House, Melville Street, distributed on Monday last, sixty-three loaves, and sixty-three shillings, to as many poor widows and others in want. With a true estimate of genuine charity, the recipients, with the exception of four, were not selected from the Roman catholic body, to which the generous giver belongs, but were relieved irrespective of creed - their necessities being sufficient recommendation.
