Isle of Wight County Press - 3 March 1888 - NEWPORT - A CHURCH WORKER. - The funeral of Mrs. Jackman, of Quay-street, took place on Tuesday last, and the deceased lady having been for some time a zealous church worker, the service was attended by a large number of district visitors and others engaged in the work of the church in the parish. Two hymns were sung, and at the close of the service in the church Mr. Scadding, presiding at the organ, played the Dead March in "Soul" with impressive effect. The Rev. Dr. Burton and the Rev. C. S. Nicholl were the officiating clergy.
