Isle of Wight County Press - 16 October 1948 - RYDE - Death of Methodist Worker. - A life-long member of the Methodist Church, Mrs. Emma Franklin, of Ottoville, The Strand, died on Sunday. She was the widow of Mr. Thomas Henry Franklin, a former baker and confectioner at Newport, and was a Sunday-school teacher at the Garfield Road Methodist Church, where the funeral service on Wednesday was conducted by the Rev. H. Bramwell Howard. The mourners were Mrs. Goodall (sister-in-law), the Misses Goodall (nieces), Mr. and Mrs. Kemp, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Blackburn. The interment was in the grave of her husband at Carisbrooke Cemetery.
